The Creative Corner, in the SBU Chemistry Building, is a collaborative effort between the Chemistry Department and the Arts Everywhere Initiative.
Connecting Bonds highlights the influences, associations, and synergies between the arts and sciences. Chemistry, in particular, is the study of matter—its composition, properties, and structure—and the transformations that matter undergoes. It’s an art form in and of itself and is intricately tied to almost every aspect of our daily lives. We aim to inspire Chemistry students and the broader student body to explore ways in which their field of study can be linked to various personal interests related to chemistry.

This site-specific video features footage filmed beneath the surface of the water at Orient Point Lighthouse, using an underwater camera to reveal a landscape that is rarely seen.
Working collaboratively, CJ + RR use technology as a tool for exploration, transforming an overlooked underwater space into a visual experience. The camera moves beneath the surface,illuminating submerged textures, movement, and ecological details that remain hidden from everyday view.

ARTISTS FOR THE EARTH EXHIBITION
Islip Arts Council is seeking environmental themed art to display in our gallery that sheds light on the current day concerns of our planet's ecosystems as well as the results of the beautiful human-nature relationship. This exhibition will strive to highlight sustainable ways in which to reduce human impact caused by blind consumerism, greed, and other contributing factors in hopes of encouraging a new love for and understanding of our ever changing biodiversity.

Suffolk County Community College’s Flecker Gallery Holds Ammerman Campus Annual Student Art Exhibition in Selden
The Flecker Gallery on the Ammerman Campus of Suffolk County Community College will hold the 2025 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition from April 17- May 16, 2025. There will be a reception and announcement of awards and scholarships on May 8 at the gallery located on the second floor of the Southampton building at 3 p.m.
Suffolk County Community College students have dedicated themselves to creating remarkable artwork in a variety of mediums and the college welcomes the community to view their talent firsthand. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.– 4 p.m. Monday–Thursday.
