ECOLOGY ART LAB: HANDMADE WATERCOLORS

  • PATCHOGUE ARTS COUNCIL 20 Terry Street Patchogue, New York, 11772 United States (map)

I taught a handmade watercolor workshop with @masticbeachconservancy Ecology Art Lab hosted by @patchoguearts

20+ people of all ages gathered to learn about oysters, how to make paints from rocks, and even got to experience the process of making paint together. Thank you to everyone who attended eager to learn about art & ecology.

I was thrilled to offer this event for free. This workshop was fully funded by my 2026 L.O.C.A.L small business grant through @longislandassoc & @optimum

Thank you to @longislandartsalliance & @toastedoysters for providing clean oyster shells for artists like me to expand my creative outreach, use as my paint palettes, and for attendees to paint on.

Thank you to Ecology Art Lab Director @femmesole for capturing all this content, and @theisabellafernanda for helping set up, check in attendees, & clean up!

We were surrounded and inspired by the current exhibition EARTH MOTHERS, featuring my watercolor paintings alongside @lorenasalcedowatson @beccaosbornstudio @rainylehrman
