CAUMSETT IN COLOR
During August - September 2025 as the Artist in Residence at Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve I created the collection, Caumsett in Color: A Study of Earth and Texture. As part of my residency I created artwork that documents Caumsett’s landscapes through color and texture, using paints I made by hand from earth and mineral pigments with some sourced from the park, others from my eco-friendly collection.
“By working directly with the land to create my paints, I’m building a visual archive of Caumsett’s unique natural palette,” says Jones.
“It’s a way to slow down, observe more deeply, and connect art-making to the environment that inspires it.”
