Art Education & Workshops
Art Education & Workshops
I am an artist and educator who develops hands-on learning experiences for children, teens, and adults across classrooms, museums, artist residencies, community organizations, and local boutiques. Having taught more than 2,000 participants, my educational practice focuses on ceramics, painting, and handmade paint-making, combining traditional techniques with contemporary art practices to encourage experimentation, creative confidence, and material exploration.
Through artist talks, classroom presentations, demonstrations, and participatory workshops, I share my artistic process while exploring connections between art, the natural world, and the places we inhabit. I collaborate with schools, museums, nonprofits, cultural institutions, and independent businesses to create accessible programs tailored to different audiences and learning objectives.
In 2026, support from the L.O.C.A.L. Small Business Grant, presented by the Long Island Association and Optimum, has helped me expand my programming and develop additional opportunities for hands-on creative learning. My work spans independent workshops and educational partnerships, from introducing visitors to art-making in public parks to developing ongoing programs connected to museum exhibitions and community environmental initiatives.
Selected Educational Programs & Collaborations
Long Island Children's Museum | April 2026–Present
Developing and facilitating hands-on educational experiences for children in connection with my exhibition, Color Field Study: Long Island’s Shoreline Transformed into Paint. Programs invite young visitors to explore color, coastal landscapes, and the creative possibilities of art and material exploration.
Fire Island National Seashore, Watch Hill | Artists in Residence Program August 2026
In partnership with the National Park Service, participated in a volunteer Artists in Residence program at the Watch Hill Visitor Center, bringing free, hands-on creative workshops to beach guests, campers, and boaters. Led a watercolor painting workshop exploring oysters and natural pigment creation, while fellow artist Jessamyn Go led a pinch-pot clay workshop inspired by the forms and functions of buoys and marine bumpers. With support from Park Ranger Judith Lakomy, the program welcomed participants of all ages and experience levels, connecting accessible art-making with the natural environment and cultural landscape of Fire Island.
Mastic Beach Conservancy | December 2025 & September 2026
Led two workshops in partnership with Mastic Beach Conservancy as part of its Ecology Art Lab initiative. The first workshop launched the program in December 2025, followed by a collaborative workshop in September 2026 with the Museum of Contemporary Art, Long Island. Both experiences combined hands-on art-making with environmental education, connecting creative exploration with local ecosystems and place-based learning.
Femme Sole Studio | Ceramic Assistant August 2025 & October 2026
Worked as a ceramic assistant to artist Jessamyn Go on grant-funded projects, including Shaping the Shoreline and Witness the Wind, contributing to collaborative ceramic work connecting artistic practice, place, and environmental themes.
